I am always curious about how people see me. When I was younger it used to drive me crazy because you know, I look at myself through the point of view of others. Not that now that I’ve grown up it doesn’t matter, it still does, just less. I’m still curious though. I guess we all act differently in front of different people, and there are only the chosen few who knows us inside out and our many personalities. I’ve always wanted to be one thing, to stand on one side. I don’t know if that makes me an extremist. But like my mama says, ourselves and our life, it is always about combination and I hope I make a good combination.

it's really interesting to see how similar the two of us can be. i absolutely agree with all that you've said. except about you being an extremist. it doesn't! :) i guess being on one side, and being one thing, shows that you know what you want and what you're all about, instead of being like a leaf, being blown from one side to another. and i've always respected those who have the courage and are bold enough to stand and remain on one side. :)
ReplyDeleteand i'm just really glad that i've got friends whom i can totally be who i am with, because that's really important for each person.
haha, i can go on and on about personalities and all these schemas (how we think others' perceive us, etc) 'cos i'm a psych major and this topic really piqued my interest, hehe!
i believe you make a good combination, though i'm yet to truly and really know and meet you. i guess if you really want to find out, you could try asking your closest friends for their honest thought about it. i do that, sometimes! :)

Hey S!
ReplyDeleteI know! I hope you'll blog more so that I'll get to know you better. I also respect those who remain on one side, I know how hard it is and how much courage you need to be different and stand firm to your principles.
I have lovely friends too but I've been in a bumpy ride lately and I'm still in my attempt to reconnect with them. I didn't know your a psych major by the way. That's so cool!
Thank you and I think you make a great combination too. My friends have given me some great feedback, I am now working to get back my confidence. Thanks for your encouraging comment as always.
Have a great week! (:
Hey,
ReplyDeleteJust be yourself in life and then the confidence comes to you in situations when you need it. I'm always amazed when I show parts of my personality though and people like it, so I totally get what you mean.
I hope everything's ok. I've been reading your blog entries and I'm thinking of you. Just take it easy and be nice to yourself now, you deserve some happiness x
