Answering Rujun’s many questions

Hello friends, thank you for being concern.

I’m tired of repeating, so this is for everyone who cares.

I’ll be studying at Taiwan this September.

I’ll be studying Chinese Language & Literature.

* The problem now,

  1. Chinese Language & Literature is an art subject.
  2. Therefore, the approval of my application is based on the results of 5 subjects.
  3. Those 5 are Chinese, English, Additional Math, History and Geography.
  4. I don’t take Geography. The rules are: if you don’t take any one of the 5 subjects mentioned, you can replace it with Economics OR Accounts.
  5. I am a Science Stream student. I take Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
  6. Apparently, I can’t replace Geography with any of my science subjects.
  7. This means, other students have the advantage because if they get A+ in all 5 subjects mentioned, they score 500 marks for the application. I am in disadvantage, because even if I get straight A+ for SPM, my application mark is only 400.

So, if I’m lucky, I will start my freshman year at University this September.

And therefore spending 4 years completing my degree.

I’m only applying for 3 Universities,

  1. National Taiwan University 国立台湾大学
  2. National Taiwan Normal University 国立师范大学
  3. National Taiwan Cheng Chi University 国立政治大学

All 3 are located at capital of Taiwan, which is Taipei. I’ve decided I love the hustle bustle of the city and I will die if I go to Taichung or Tainan. Look at me, I am a KL girl, I cannot imagine my life if I were to be exiled to Perlis, wtf –.-

Anyway, if I’m unlucky and crippled by my disadvantage, I will do 1 year of Pre-U in arts (I mentioned that Chinese Language & Literature is an art subject) at 侨大先修部, only then will I spend another 4 years at University completing my degree.

If I am to start University immediately, the pros would be:

- shorter years of education, only 4 years, compared to Pre-U which will take 5

- able to experience University life sooner

If I am to do Pre-U, the pros would be:

- more time to adapt myself before University

- I’ll be studying arts in general, so I’ll have the chance to discover more of my interests. Who knows? I might decide to Major in Theology or History instead of Chinese after a year of Pre-U

I’ve prepared myself to accept whatever outcome. Because I have faith that god will plan whatever that is best FOR ME.

Therefore, I am currently just waiting the release of SPM results so that I can proceed with my application.

Last but not least, te’Amo people (;

Thanks for your love!
