This is totally different from Twilight. It is a substantial, action-packed, yet romantic and emotional journey of Alisa Perne, who is in fact, 5000 years old, being tracked down constantly and wants to be human more than anything else.
Alisa is a paradox herself. She is a murderer and an enchantress, breaking necks like toothpicks. But along side, was her humanity and the love she has for people and so wanting to be last of her kind and perish ( you get the idea, she struggles as predators like her hunt for her immortal blood )
Read about the sacrifices made making another of her kind, about the love she finds and eventually loses, about having to kill her own daughter to protect whatever hope is left. And read about small things like the sorrow of a vampire who has an overwhelming past of 5000 years, constantly haunting her and also the lessons learnt about life & the universe.
I love the part where Alisa is human again, realizing how vulnerable and fragile she is. ( And then had to defeat her vampire daughter who accomplished full growth in a month, lol ) This is a very good read, the author is most creative. I rate 7 out of 10!
